LONDON (Ohio) — This year’s Ohio State University Farm Science Review will be available live online and in person. The event will take place at Ohio State’s Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London on Sept. 21-23.
“While research, teaching, and service to communities throughout Ohio did not stop during the pandemic, it is a reminder that we are thankful to technology analyst once again be in person, working with each other to advance our industry,” Cathann A. Cress, Ohio State’s vice-president for agricultural administration and dean of College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Science.
More than 100 educational sessions, 600 exhibits, and a career exploration fair will be part of the event. There will also be field crop demonstrations and virtual reality videos about farming activities.
Nick Zachrich, Farm Science Review’s Manager, said acs central science that there will be an online component called “Farm Science Review Live”. This is the next major step in enhancing the event’s digital tools. In recent years, there have been a mobile app as well as a digital directory that were designed to assist people in navigating the grounds.
“Our staff have worked hard to make it easy for visitors to find exhibitors and the information they require. Zachrich stated that it is difficult to see the exhibits’ 100-acre area, especially when you stop by to talk business or attend a session.
He said that “Farm Science Review Live” will allow people to see what they missed or let them return to learn more.
Farm Science Review hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. September 21-22 and 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. September 23. Tickets can be purchased online at OSU Extension county offices and at participating Agribusinesses for $7, or at the gate at $10. Children under 5 years old are free.
Farm Science Review: “Forecasting for the Future for 50 Years”
Farm Science Review is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Its organizers state that, despite all the changes in agriculture over the years, one thing has remained constant: Ohio’s premier agricultural event remains dedicated to providing the best agricultural research, resources and information for farmers.
Chuck Gamble, Farm Science Review manager, stated that this year’s theme “Forecasting The Future for 50 Years” emphasizes turbocharging technology what Farm Science is all.
He said, “It’s all about forecasting the future and what technology might be coming down in agriculture.” It’s about providing cutting-edge technology for farmers.
“The technology boom in agriculture over the past 50 years has made the field so exciting. I am astonished at the innovations in agriculture that are possible thanks to satellite technology. This includes genetics, seeds, and all the chemistries we use to protect the plants.
