SIGNAL NOTIFICATIONS

Focus Assist is a Windows 10 feature that can be used to muffle annoying notifications. Click on Settings, then click on System. Select Focus Assist. You can then customize your notifications.

DARK MODE AND LIGHT MODE

You can personalize your color palette by choosing between Dark Mode or Light Mode. Go to Settings, click Personalization, then select Colors. You can choose from Dark Mode, Light Mode or your own color palette. These changes will affect the taskbar, start menu, taskbar and action center as well as file explorer and setting menus.

SHAKE IT OFF

Clear any open windows on your screen by clicking on the top and shaking it. The other windows will be reduced to a minimum. To make other windows appear, shake it again.

ROOT YOUR SCREEN

To rotate your screen, press Ctrl+ Alt + D or any arrow button.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR TILE

You can personalize your tiles by right clicking on them. A menu will appear with many options. You can unpin the tiles from the start menu or resize your windows.

NEARBY SHARE

This is similar to Apple’s AirDrop. Click the Share icon at top of your document or photo toolbar, then open the panel and click on “Turn On Nearby Sharing”. Nearby recipients who are within range of your camera will appear.

CONTROL YOUR SMART HOME

You can connect Next, SmartThings and Honeywell to your Windows 10 computer if you have Honeywell, Ecobee or Honeywell. Go to Cortana Notebook and click Manage Skills. Scroll down and choose Connected Home. Once you have enabled it, you can send instructions to your smart home from your computer.

SECRET START MENU

Right-click on the Windows icon at the bottom-left corner. This will open a list of popular and familiar destinations, minus the tiles.
